Kestrel completed LIDAR and photogrammetric surveys for the Yakama Power Dual Use Solar Project in South-Central Washington. The project aims to install an innovative tubular solar panel over an existing irrigation canal and adjacent to an existing electrical transmission line. Understanding the alignment of the existing transmission line and canal were critical constraints for the siting and conceptual design of the foundation and structural supports for the system. The high fidelity LIDAR data provided by Kestrel allowed the design team to evaluate electrical clearances between the solar system and the existing transmission line. Yakama Power was able to use the photogrammetry to drive discussion with their key stakeholders.
